Tinubu flags off construction of 750km Lagos – Calabar Coastal highway in C’River

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has flagged – off construction of the 65km 3-lane dual carriageway, a component of the 750km Lagos – Calabar Coastal highway section 3A in cross river state.
Representing the president at the flag – off ceremony in the cross river, the State Governor, Bassey Edet Otu described the road project as a job creation booster that will better the lives of cross riverians when it is fully completed.
” The road project is going to create jobs for Nigerians, I call on cross riverians to re-awaken their entrepreneurial skills by maximally taking advantage of the of the road project when completed”
He stated that with the recent ground breaking ceremony of the Special Agro Industrial processing Zone in the State, the road will serve as an evacuation corridor for products from the Zone.
He promised as a state he would do everything within his administration to ensure that the project succeeds from the Calabar end of the road.
In his remarks, the Minister of works, David Umahi said that the strategic road project when completed will enhanced the National road infrastructure, reduce congestion and play a significant step towards improving the environmental conservation for Nigeria.
He called on full cooperation for cross Riverian so as to achieve the needed result as at when due, promising that the locals would be carried along in the road project.
