The Nasarawa South Progressive Network has declared its commitment to rally behind Muhammad Musa Maikaya, and however urged him to contest the 2027 governorship election in Nasarawa State.
The group, under the leadership of Alhaji Osama, made this declaration during a gathering held Lafia on Saturday which attracted a large turnout of youths, women, and elders from the five local government areas of the Nasarawa South Senatorial Zone.
Speaking at the event, members of the organization described Dr. Maikaya as a humanitarian and visionary leader whose record of service has positively impacted countless lives across the state.
“Dr. Maikaya has consistently demonstrated what leadership should look like service, compassion, and accountability,” said Alhaji Osama, the group’s leader.
“From scholarships to health interventions and youth empowerment, his contributions speak louder than words. We are convinced that he is the most suitable successor to His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule.”

According to the group, Dr. Maikaya’s philanthropic initiatives include the enrollment of over 750 individuals into the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA), scholarship programs for students across the state, and the organization of annual state-wide sporting competitions—particularly in football—to foster unity, peace, and youth engagement.
They also commended his women empowerment programs and consistent investment in rural development, describing him as “a man who sees leadership as service, not privilege.”
In recognition of his community service and humanitarian works, Maikaya has received numerous awards from different organizations and associations. Some of these honors were presented during the event by Hon. AbdulRahman Dahiru Doma.
Delivering a goodwill message, Mrs. Aisha Ahmed, who represented women at the gathering, said, “Maikaya’s passion for people’s welfare stands out. He listens, he acts, and he delivers. We believe he has the capacity and empathy to take Nasarawa to greater heights.”
Also speaking, a youth representative, Mr. Musa Abubakar, noted that Maikaya’s initiatives have continued to inspire young people.
“Through sports and skills development, he has given many youths a new sense of purpose. That is why we believe in his leadership and vision for a better Nasarawa,” he said.
The group maintained that Muhammad Musa Maikaya represents continuity and progress, describing him as “the best alternative after Abdullahi A. Sule” due to his administrative experience, humanitarian record, and commitment to sustainable development.
The event concluded with chants of solidarity and renewed pledges of support as the Nasarawa South Progressive Network vowed to mobilize massive grassroots support for Maikaya ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
