Security: Abdulkadir bags NSCDC Prestigious Security Award, vows to combat crimes in Bauchi

The governor of Bauchi state, Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has bagged a prestigious award from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, NSCDC, for tackling insecurity in the state.

The Nations News Nigeria reports that the award was given to him at the Bauchi new government house, by the management of the state NSCDC led by the commandant, Mr. Ilaleboye Oyejide, on Friday.

Abdulkadir who spoke shortly after receiving the ward, said the award is dedicated to the resilient people of Bauchi State, whose support and contributions have been indispensable in the battle against crimes in the state.

“I expressed my administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing our state’s security through ongoing engagement with key stakeholders. This declaration came as I was honored with the Prestigious Security Award of Excellence by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), a recognition that not only reinforces my resolve but also emboldens me to continue our collective efforts against banditry and other criminal activities”

The governor, Abdulkadir reiterated his preparedness to continue to support NSCDC in all their activities for the development of Bauchi State and Nigeria at large. 

“I am deeply thankful for this accolade and for the acknowledgment of our mutual dedication to the service of humanity and the welfare of our community” he stated.

Earlier in a remark, the NSCDC state commandant Mr. Oyejide said that the reason of the award was to raise awareness and the importance of civil defence in protecting people and their properties from natural disasters.

He said that the responsibility of government is security and without security, no body will govern and further lauded the governor for making sure there’s no security challenges in the state.

“We are not giving you the award because you are the governor of the state no , but because of your compassionate and dedication to the good people of the state” he stated.
