Sallah Celebration: Police commissioner, Auwal deploys officers, vows to clampdown on hoodlums, thugs in Buachi

The Commissioner of Police Bauchi State, Auwal Musa Mohammed has ahead of the upcoming EID-EL KABIR celebration assured citizens of the state of adequate safety of lives and properties.

He made this known in a statement signed and issued to newsmen by the command’s public relations officer (PPRO) SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil on Friday.

The statement reads in part: “The Command will work closely with other security agencies and key stakeholders to guarantee a peaceful and smooth celebration. 

“The Command has ordered for the deployment of officers, including conventional police and tactical teams, along with necessary logistics, to all praying grounds and event venues in the state”

“These personnel have been given strict instructions to be courteous yet assertive in carrying out their duties. Strategic officers will reinforce visibility policing structures and conduct confidence-building patrols, particularly around residential areas, major highways, and government/private infrastructures, to prevent and address any potential disruptions”

He added further that: “The Command is prepared to address any attempts by hoodlums, political thugs, and other disruptive elements that may seek to create chaos before, during, and after the festive period.

He emphasized the significance of maintaining peace and order throughout the celebrations.

Auwal, however called on the people of the state to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police.

The Commissioner also urged the people of the state to partner with police and other security agencies to ensure peaceful Sallah Celebration across all the twenty (20) local government areas of the state.
