Police Neutralize 1 bandit, rescue 2 Kidnap Victims In Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command at the weekend said it has neutralized one bandit, recovered one AK-47 rifle and rescued 2 kidnapped victims in Gwana district of Alkaleri Local Government Area of the State.
The command made this known in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Bauchi by it’s spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Wakil.
The statement reads in part: “On 9th August 2025, at about 06:00 hours, the Command received critical information from attentive residents of Yalo and Mansur regarding an incident that transpired on 8th August 2025 at about 02:30 hours.
“Suspected bandits launched an attack on Kataraje village, via Kalgo and Alkaleri village, located in the Gwana District of the Yankari Game Reserve.
“During this assault, two individuals were abducted: Alh. Ango Mallam Idi, aged 60 years-old, and Musa Alhaji Shumo, aged 35-year-old.
“Unfortunately, two additional residents, Rabiu Alhaji Sale, aged 50-year-old, and Alhaji Sale Akko, aged 45-year-old, sustained injuries during the incident”
“Following the alarming report, the Command’s joint operations team swiftly mobilised to the scene. Immediate medical assistance was provided to the injured, and efforts were undertaken to identify and track the assailants.
Adding that “During this pursuit, operatives encountered the suspected bandits, resulting in a gun duel. Owing to the tactical proficiency and superior firepower of the operatives, one bandit was successfully neutralised at the scene, accompanied by the recovery of one AK-47 rifle”
The spokesperson of the command said that all the victims has been rescued and sent them back to their families.
The State Police Commissioner, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu commended the efforts of his men for protecting the lifes of the affected communities.
Sani-Omolori said that their Command remains resolutely committed to its mandate of maintaining public order and safeguarding citizens’ lives and property from criminal merchants desperate to make a living at the expense of law-abiding citizens.
