Police nab 3 ritualists for alleged murder of 3 citizens in Ebonyi

Ebonyi state police command led by CP Antonia Adaku Uche-Anya have arrested two suspected ritualists; one Innocent Elebe and Eze Elechi for allegedly killing three people in the state.

The victims; Chikezie Idenyi, Chibu Odii and Eze Fabian, were allegedly murdered by the suspects for ritual purposes.

The command’s spokesperson, Joshua Ukandu who paraded the suspects at the state commander, Abakaliki, explained that the alleged killers were among One hundred and seventy seven suspects arrested for various offences in the state last month.

He noted further that the three suspects killed their victims on different dates while trying to extract their blood to purportedly treat a young man with down syndrome.

Ukandu stressed further that the corpses of Chikezie Idenyi and Chibu Odii had been recovered, while efforts were on top gear to recover that of the third victim.

The command’s spokesperson, Ukandu said that the operatives of the Command also arrested one Chukwuebuka Okemiri who conspired with others at large to kill the Traditional Ruler of Ihie Autonomous Community in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Ezeogo Ibo Ubani.

In a swift reaction, the main suspect in the alleged ritual killing, Innocent Elebe confessed to the crime, claiming that he collected over three million Naira from Eze Elechi to treat his child with Down syndrome.

The suspect, Elebe explained that the blood of humans may not cure down syndrome, but he did such with the aim of defrauding the man.
