Police arrest man, 65-yrs with 1,100 rounds of live ammunition in Anambra

The Anambra state police command has arrested a 65 years old man, Akpan Godwin, at Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government area, with 1,100 rounds of live ammunition.
The Spokesperson of the Anambra State Police command, SP, Tochukwu Ikenga made this known in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Onitsha, Sunday.
The command said that the arrest was made by its Operatives attached to Rapid Response Squad, Akwuzu, who acted based on credible information on 22nd August, 2025.

“Our operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad Awkuzu, acting on credible information, arrested one Akpan Godwin ‘m’, aged 65 years, in possession of 1,100 rounds of live ammunition, in Nkpor, Onitsha.
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to being involved in the illegal sale of ammunition and mentioned other individuals connected to the illicit trade.
Meanwhile the Operatives were said to have stepped up the investigation/manhunt to uncover and apprehend all accomplices involved in the illegal ammunition dealings.
