NYSC seeks Supports from LG to enhance Operations in C’River

The National Youth Service Corps has called for greater cooperation between the Corps members and Odukpani local government of the cross river state for enhanced Operations in the area.
Making the call during a courtesy visit to the chairman of Council, Etim Asido at the headquarters of the local government, the NYSC Inspector, Odukpani local government, Blessing Bisong said the visit aims at enhancing the well-being of Corps members while promoting community service delivery in the local government
In his remarks, the Chairman of Odukpani Local Government Area, Ukpong Etim Asido reaffirmed his commitment to providing adequate welfare and security for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Odukpani.
The Chairman said in line with Governor Otu’s Peoples first mantra, which is focused on promoting community development and youth empowerment. This move is gearing towards fostering NYSC’s goals of promoting national unity, building leadership skills.

He promised to create a conducive environment for corps members to serve and make meaningful contributions to the local government area.
“I’am committed to supporting NYSC in a positive step towards promoting youth development and community growth in Odukpani Local Government Area”.
Asido advised the corps members with agricultural background to partner the council on planting palm sprouts, while those with engineering expertise were encouraged to work with local engineers on road construction projects.
He Stressed that this would further promote community development and national unity by leveraging on the skills and expertise of corps members, the local government can tap into fresh ideas and drive progress in the area, he maintained.
