Nwifuru appoints NLC boss, Egwu, Ex- speaker, commissioner, perm. Secs,  42 others as SA’s, board members in Ebonyi

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru at the weekend has announced the appointments of the chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Prof. Ogugua Egwu, the former speaker of the state house of assembly, Ikechukwu Nwankwo, a two time chairman of Afikpo south, Eni Uduma and 42 others as senior special assistants, special assistants and board members.

The governor made this known through in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State on Sunday.

He stated that, one Chukwuma Ofoke is appointed as Senior Special Assistant, while Elechi Okechukwu Solomon, Uwa Henry Ifeanyi, Fidelis Nnachi Inya, Sunday Nwambam, Mrs Catherine Nneka Emeka Igwe, Hon Igwe Uduma, Mrs Lucy Ola Irem and Pauline Nwagu are appointed as Special Assistants.

Nwifuru however, named the former speaker, Ikechukwu Nwankwo as chairman of Ebonyi state market development board, while Daniel Okwuegbu , Alo Chrisantus, Ogbonaya Joseph Onu, Barr Chima Uduma Chima — Member, Friday Nwakpu, Chinedu Nowye, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Commerce as members, and Nwafor. Solomon Ugama is Secretary.

Others appointed includes, Mrs Loveth Akpa as the Chairman of Ebonyi State agricultural land development authority while John Nwenewor, Christopher Nwogba, Agu Ukamwa Ajali, Prof Simon Nwibo — Rep. Faculty of Agriculture, Mr. Fidelis Nwotam  Nwankwo–  permeant Secretary,  Ministry of Agriculture, Mrs Joy Mbam, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Prof Ogugua Egwu.– Chairman NLC are members, and Maxwell Nwali is the Executive Secretary.

Nwifuru also appointed the former chairman of Ohaozara, Chaka Nweze as the Chairman Ebonyi State scholarship board, while Prof kerian Ezike, Dr. James Ndieze, Prof Humphrey Nwobashi, Mr. Collins Chima, Donatus Aja, Augustine Okoro, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Information are members and Dr. Stephen Ikporo is the Secretary.

The former two time chairman of Afikpo south and two time House of assembly member for Afikpo south/ west constituency, Eni Uduma Chima was named as the Chairman Ebonyi State fertilizer board, while Anthony Ofoke, Emeka Egbe, Nwakakego Nworie, Joseph Obasi, Donatus Njoku, Enyita Friday are Members and Dr. Sunday Nwangele is the Director General.

The governor, Francis Nwifuru however emphasized that the enlisted persons will be sworn-in on Monday, 11th March,  2024.
