NSCDC threatens clampdown on vandals in Bauchi, nabs 2

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) Bauchi State Command at the weekend arrested two suspects for vandalizing communication cable in Bauchi.
In a press statement by the spokesman of the command, ASC Saminu Yusuf, signed and issued to newsmen. Said that they recovered digger, shovel and saw from the suspects.
He said that the suspect were arrested on 29th September 2025, following an intelligence report leading to their arrest along the Fonde, Haire community axis of Toro LGA of Bauchi State.
The arrested suspects includes of Muhammadu Sani “M” 38 years and Muhammed Auwal “M” 34 years both from the above mentioned location were caught on the act.
According to the press statement read “Musa Ibrahim “M” 22 years was arrested by the NSCDC personnel in Bauchi on the 27 September 2025, at Muda Lawan market for theft, shop burgling and vandalizing the shop air conditions (A/C) and carted away with some valuables.
“All the suspects have confessed to having committed the alleged crime and have been charged to court” he added.
The Commandant of the command, Oloyede Nelson Oyerinde commends his personnel for their commitment in safeguarding public infrastructures.
Oyerinde said that the damage caused by cable vandals can lead to the disruption in communication and power supply which can hamper the economy.
He warned perpetrators to desist from such acts or face legal consequences.
