By Uchenna Okeh
The National Vice Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, South East zone, Ali Odefa has said that Nigerians are in deep pain and tired of the APC’s administration in the country.
He noted that people are in love with PDP in the state and the country, and enthusiastic to support PDP to reclaim power in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
Odefa made this known while addressing newsmen during the Party’s state ward congress that took place at the PDP state secretariat located along Enugu/ Abakaliki expressway.
He opined that the party was putting things together to wrestle power from APC in 2027 which he described as an opposition party.
The national vice chairman, south east zone, however dismissed any crisis in the party, saying that “there has been total reconciliation, the NWC is one, we are one”.
He implored the new executives of the party in the state to embark on total reconciliation, rebuilding the party and reconcile every interest
Responding, the newly elected Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Nwele Peter, said that the party will start bringing those that left the party back to form a formidable force to take over the state in 2027.
He said the state has been a PDP state and that the party will bounce back in 2027.
The Nations News Nigeria reports that the state ward Congress of the party, was supervised by the 7-man committee from the National secretariat of the party (NWC), National Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies.
He said: “Ebonyi State is PDP right from time and it will continue to be in PDP. People say that there is a crisis in PDP, there is no crisis in the party.
“The only thing we want to do now is to embark on bringing those who left the party back. PDP is a very large family that will accommodate all of us. So, we are ready to start bringing everyone back home.
“We are for forgiveness, we make peace for people to come back home so that we take back our lost mandate”, he stated.
Earlier in a remark, the Chairman of the Congress committee, Ugonna Ogbonna
described the exercise as peaceful and transparent and commended members of the party for conducting themselves orderly.
