NGO, “Girls In Power” vow to takeover leadership In Calabar

A non Governmental Organization, “Girls In Power’ has organized youth Summit in Calabar with over 200 young girls in attendance drawn  from over 20 Schools both the primary and secondary schools across the State.

The founder/ Executive Director of the organization, Theresa Eja said that the foundation is a non profit organization committed to empowering girls and women to take up  leadership positions across Africa.

According to her, “we do this through leadership training, mentorship, policy advocacy and networking”.

She said that the summit aims to teach, guide and inspire the young minds , helping them to navigate their paths with confidence for a better future 

The founder also stated that the foundation in January this year, over 578 had applied for the next Campus female leaders fellowship.

She added that the essence of the Fellowship was to curb the paradox of having more female students in campus yet few in leadership.

Eja maintained that in a world where education serves as the key to libration, they nurture the young, planting seeds of leadership, stating that women have a role to play in the overall development of every society

The organization also revealed that on may  this year,  they the hosted the “catch her young” summit with the theme, The leadership seed.
