NBA Vice chair, Sadiya attributes hawking as cause of incessant rape, assault on girls in Nigeria

The chairperson, law officers Association Of Nigeria, LOAN, and human rights committee Nigeria Bar Association, Bauchi state chapter, Sadiya Saleh has attributed hawking as the major cause of the incessant sexual Violence and other related assault meted on girls in Nigeria.

Sadiya, who is also the vice chairperson Nigeria Bars Association, NBA, Bauchi state, also attributed poverty and lack of education as things that pushes girls into engaging in hawking, which according to her, exposes them to rape and assaults by men.

She called on stakeholders in Bauchi state to take up the challenge and protect the future of women and girls, by averting the various sexual exploitation meted on them 

Sadiya, who is the chief state counsel ministry of justice, MOJ, Bauchi state, made this known during a 2 day workshop with key stakeholders, which took place at the executive nest hotel along ATBU-TH, Bauchi.

The Nations News Nigeria reports that the workshop was organized by the Attah Sisters Helping Hand Foundation, with the aim to ensure the peace, security, prevention, protection, relief and recovery, as well as to promote gender diversity in Bauchi state.

She said that the prevention of girls child sexual violence, starts from home by parents to make sure that they provide all their needs, giving them their full time, and by so doing, sexual Violence will reduce drastically.

Sadiya, also called on the religious leaders to continue giving awareness in their churches, mosques to prevent and protect  girls from sexual  violence.
