NANS laments over fuel scarcity, epileptic power supply in Nigeria

The National Association Of Nigerian Students ,NANS, Bauchi State chapter on Tuesday lamented over the high rate of fuel scarcity, drinking water and epileptic power supply in the country.
The students led by the chairman of the Joint Campus Committee, JCC, comrade Usman Abubakar Mansur made this known during press conference that took place at the Nigeria Union Of Journalists, NUJ, press centre, Bauchi State.
He said that the fuel scarcity, drinking water and the epileptic power supply by the electricity providers in the country has affected their studies.
NANS leadership noted further that the situation has affected students, to the extent of preventing them from going to their various institutions for studies.
“We must highlight the dire economic hardship that our fellow citizens, including students, are enduring. The skyrocketing prices of essential commodities, coupled with the persistent scarcity of electricity and the exorbitant rates of electricity units have created an unbearable burden on the shoulders of the Nigerian populace”
The chairman noted further that ” This dire situation is directly affecting the ability of students to pursue their education effectively and contributes to the overall deterioration of our quality of life”
“We call upon the Federal Government to urgently address these critical issues by implementing concrete measures to alleviate the economic burden on the Nigerian people. We demand transparency and accountability in the management of resources to ensure that the welfare of citizens particularly students to be given utmost priority”
“As representatives of the Nigerian Students community in Bauchi state, we remain resolute in our commitment to advocating for the rights and welfare of students across the nation” he stated.
The chairman of the group, said that if their demands is not solved, they will mobilize students across the country to go for peaceful protest in order to achieve their mission.
The students also called on the federal government to take action and alleviate the economic hardship facing the people in the country.
