MWAN Seeks Partnership with Kogi Govt to Boost Women, Girl-Child Health

The Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria, (MWAN) Kogi State chapter has paid a courtesy visit to the First Lady of the State, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, with the aim of collaborating with the state government in improving the health and well-being of women, children, and adolescents.

The First Lady, who warmly received the delegation led by Yetunde Owa, lauded MWAN for its dedication to addressing critical health issues affecting the community. 

She expressed particular appreciation for their work in creating awareness on improving the health of the girl Child, Women,  as well as efforts to curb drug abuse among youths.

“I commend the Medical Women’s Association for its proactive role in health education and outreach. My office is open to partnerships that promote better healthcare delivery and social development across the state,” Hajia Ododo said.

In response, Owa reaffirmed MWAN’s commitment to supporting the state government’s initiatives in health education, policy advocacy, and community outreach. She highlighted the importance of partnerships in tackling public health challenges and ensuring access to healthcare services for all, especially women and vulnerable groups.

The visit, according to the association, marks the beginning of a promising collaboration aimed at empowering women and girls, and promoting a healthier and more inclusive society in Kogi
