The Nations News Nigeria reports that the driver of the said vehicle was allegedly impatient to slow down and follow the right road leading to the hotel where the victims would have lodged, rather he sped up and hit an object which perforated the fuel tank and it was gutted by fire.

One of the victims who spoke anonymity said they were using Google maps to locate the venue but the driver with annoyance said that they are wasting his fuel and speed up and refused to slow down until he hit the object.

The victim noted further that after hitting the object, he parked by the road side, came down, picked some belongings inside the vehicle, banged the door and left them there and ran away.

Confirming the incident, the sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), Ebonyi Command, Igwe Nnabuife, said that the accident occurred at G-Hostel junction on Thursday night (2349hrs).
