…As he vow to flush out herdsmen from Benue soon

Ahead of the 2027 general election, leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) including local government councils chairmen and elders of the party, have endorsed Governor Hyacinth Alia and President Ahmed Tinubu for reelection.
They took the decision during the two anniversary celebration of governor Alia in office held at IBB square Makurdi, Thursday.
Moving the motion for the endorsement of the governor and president Tinubu for second term in 2027, the chairman of APC elder forum, chief Barnabas Gemade said they are satisfy with the sterling performance of the APC-led government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and governor Alia, decided that they should run for another tenure of four years to continue with his good works.
They assured that the APC will continue to support all people-oriented programmes and projects of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and governor Alia.
Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Hyacinth Alia stated that his administration is on the trail of herders and bandits, assuring that very soon they along with other criminals will be decimated in the State.
He also said the two (2) years of his administration has been faced with challenges of insecurity, political distraction and inadequate funding.

Said he, “security remains our top priority. Although we inherited a fragile security situation, we have taken bold steps towards restoring safety of lives and property, as well as maintenance of law and order. The establishment of Operation Anyam Nyôr, a security outfit backed by legislation, has empowered law enforcement agencies to tackle insecurity head-on”
He noted that the celebration is a moment of reflection and renewed commitment, noting that it is to reaffirm strong resolve to build an inclusive Benue as well as prioritize infrastructural development.
Highlighting his achievements, the Governor intimated that they embarked on renovation of the State Secretariat which was abandoned and in dilapidated state, carried renovation work too on the State House of Assembly complex, commenced work on two (2) under passes which are at the verge of completing and will be Commissioned in few months, adding that in the area of health, the commencement of work at the Ultra modern cancer Centre valued at over 20 Billion.
“Hear him,”In the area of Food production, we subsidized fertilizers and herbicides by 50 percent, established farms for IDPs and introduced mechanized farming through Public Private Partnership, PPP . We have also begun revitalization of Swine production in Yandev, Gboko.
“In education, we recruited 9, 000 teachers, renovation of classrooms and smart schools. 253 Schools projects renovated 13340 units of furniture distributed, payment by blocking leakages, acquired instructional materials as well as introduced digital learning.
“We will address pending obligations to workers. Prospects for Benue are better and we will deepen the gains in infrastructure development.
“My government is committed to making Benue where everyone will live with dignity. Critics’ engagement strengthens our democracy. We will continue to work for a Benue that is secure and prosperous”.
In his speech, the Unity Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Benjamin Omale, commended governor Alia for the development stride within the two years.
He hailed the unanimous endorsement of President Tinubu as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 general elections, describing the move as a masterstroke that has effectively silenced the opposition and strengthened party unity, stressing that the party in the state has tolled the part of others to endorse governor Alia and President Tinubu for second term.
Chief Omale called on the people of Benue State and Nigerians at large to maintain their trust in the APC, assuring them that greater developments are on the horizon under the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Alia.
