The chairman of Ogbo Efele market, Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State, Mr. Innocent Munonye, has empowered 20 wheel barrow pushers with twenty million naria
The Nations News Nigeria reports that the beneficiaries received #100,000 each, as empowerment packages.
Munonye however, presented #2.5 million naria to five indigent youth traders of the market who hail from the five South East states of Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Imo and Abia to assist them in their businesses.
The market chairman, Munonye noted that what informed him empowerment was that his father was a wheel barrow pusher in the market when he was an apprentice trader.
“My father was a wheel barrow pusher in this market when I was an apprentice trader in the market. If a barrow pusher can raise one to be a market chairman, then all hope is not lost for the down trodden. Others can still be raised, I also want some rich people to emulate me as it will help to reduce crime in the society” he stated.
