LG boss vows to give Malaria Drugs to children  of 3-59 Months

The Chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Yakubu Lawi Sumi on Thursday said that his Government will make sure that every child between the age of 3-59 months receives Malaria Chemoprevention Drugs.

Sumi said that during the flagged off of the 2025 Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention Vas exercise held at the Primary Health Care center, Bogoro metropolis. 

The council boss, Sumi said that Malaria is a deadly disease that causes sickness and kills children particularly during the rainy season like this.

He urged the health workers to ensure that no child should be exempted from the distribution of the Malaria drugs. Promised massive support to the success of the programme.

He charged parents to make available their children for the exercise describing Immunization as free, safe, and an essential right of every child. 

The council boss, Surveyor Yakubu Lawi Sumi expressed his appreciation to the State governor, Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir for the efforts of combating health related and deadly disease health partners, 

He also thanked the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF), Bauchi State Primary Health Care Board, World Health Organization (WHO) and all stakeholders for always contributing their quota.

In his welcome address, the Director Primary Health Care Department, Godwin Hakuri commended the Chairman for always supporting the health sector across the local government.

Hakuri urged parents and caregivers to present their children between 3 to 59 months for the seasonal Malaria chemoprevention drugs and 6 to 59 months for the vitamin A vaccination during this campaign.

He advises his colleagues health workers to continue to be dedicated for better service delivery and progressive development of Bogoro Local Government, particularly in the health sector.

While the village head of Lusa, Dauda Zabas thanked Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir and the Bogoro local government Chairman for securing a healthier future for the children.

He promised on behalf of his colleagues the traditional leaders that they will follow all channels of information in which other children in the local government receive the 2025 seasonal Malaria chemoprevention drugs.
