Lansar Aghaji bags  Auctioneer of the Year

The Certified Institute of Auctioneers Nigeria (CIAN) has named Lansar Aghaji & Co as its 2025 Auctioneer of the Year, marking the firm’s second consecutive recognition as the country’s top-performing auction house.

The honour was announced on Saturday at the institute’s national conference in Ilorin, which drew industry leaders, regulators and practitioners to review trends in the sector and celebrate outstanding contributions to the profession.

Presenting the award, CIAN President, Engr. Adedapo Oladapo, said the firm earned the recognition for its “exceptional leadership, consistency and deep understanding of modern auction demands.”

He added that its operations and innovations “continue to push the industry forward.”

Oladapo further noted that the company’s mentorship efforts were particularly commendable.

 “The firm’s dedication to capacity development aligns perfectly with the institute’s long-term vision for a stronger, more accountable auction profession,” he said.

Chairperson of the CIAN Awards Committee, Mrs. Aminat Bello, said Lansar Aghaji & Co emerged top among the nominees based on verifiable achievements and professional standards.

“Their transparent processes and excellent client service across multiple sectors made this a well-deserved win,” she stated.

Receiving the award, Principal Auctioneer, AUC Ikenna Lansar Aghaji, described the recognition as “a profound honour,” especially being named the top auctioneer for the second year running.

“It reaffirms our belief that integrity, professionalism and innovation remain the pillars of sustainable growth in the auction industry,” he said.

Aghaji also praised his team for their role in building a reputable organisation. “Our team has worked tirelessly to elevate auction standards in Nigeria, especially through transparent digital platforms that give every participant an equal opportunity. This recognition belongs to every member of my team,” he added.

He highlighted the company’s mentorship programme as one of its proudest achievements. “I am particularly proud of the young auctioneers we have mentored. 

They are the future of this profession, and their growth inspires us to keep raising the bar,” he said.

With the award, Lansar Aghaji & Co will retain its position as CIAN’s number one auctioneer in Nigeria until November 2026.
