Int’l peace day: Enough of shedding bloods in Nigeria – Ebonyi NSCDC boss, Nnadi urges

The Commandant of the Nigeria security civil Defence corps, NSCDC, Ebonyi State command, Francis Nnadi on Monday urged Nigerians, especially the people of Ebonyi State to embrace peace, and however, warned against shedding of blood in the country.

Nnadi made this known while addressing journalists in Abakaliki during a road walk embark on by the command to mark this year’s international Peace day.

The Commandant, Nnadi who led members of NSCDC and moved round the major roads in Abakaliki, insisted that Nigeria can only grow when there is absolute peace  among members of the society.

According to him:”Today is known to be International Peace Day, all over the world.And NSCDC,are at the forefront of preaching peace. 

“we are marching out there to let people understand the importance of peace in our communities, in our homes.As a nation, we need to embrace peace, that’s the sense of today.He further applauded the wives of NSCDC, Ebonyi State command who trooped out enmass to march round the streets of Abakaliki to commemorate the international Peace day.

“I will start with the civil defense association.Their slogan is peace at home, peace in the nation.These are the women who keep ourarmed personnel, who make sure that when they come back at the end of the day,they have peace at home.

“So it’s always good to start with peace.Let’s get out there and preach peace. We, as First Respondents, like I said earlier,are currently at the forefront to make sure, as we are doing here, it’s being done across 36 states of the Federation, including FCT.

On the area of eruption of crisis among political leaders he said:”I want to use this opportunity to tell all Nigerians, that there’s a need for us to preach peace.”The crisis is getting out of hand. We can’t keep shedding blood and destroying good things to come.

“The economy can only strive to have peace.We have brotherly love.That’s the way this economy, this country will grow from. 

“To those who are in governance,for those who are governors, President andAmbassadors, because sometimes you see some troubles, you see political crises, but you know power is given by God. And God is peace.And God is love.

“Mr. President is a peaceful man that I know. And I suppose all other political appointeesandpoliticiansunderstand what the word peace is all about.And I want to encourage everyone of us to embrace it” he stressed.

Responding, the public relations officer, PRO, of the NSCDC wives association, Odimba Evelyn said “we gathered here today to create awareness on peace, because we need peace to reign in our nation.

“We give our husbands peace at home and when they get to their various offices, they work with a very big settled mind” she stressed.
