Insecurity: ‘Why we summoned Gumi for questioning – FG

The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s led administration has explained why it summoned Ahmad Gumi, the Islamic cleric based in Kaduna for questioning.

Tinubu’s administration insisted that Gumi have to answer questions regarding his remarks on the actions of bandits in the country.

Recall that, the Islamic cleric, Gumi in the recent time, allegedly defended the activities of some suspected terrorists in the country.

The Federal government through the minister for information and orientation,

Mohammed Idris, said it has become necessary for the Islamic cleric, Gumi to furnish the government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with the activities of the terrorists in the country.

Idris made this known while addressing newsmen.

He mentioned that Gumi should follow the law like everyone else, mentioning that the government has thought it important to ask him some questions.
