‘I’m pained by Ibu’s death – Gov. Soludo

Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, on Sunday said that he was pained by the sudden death of a Nollywood veteran  actor, Mr. John Okafor, popularly called ‘Ibu’.

The governor who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, expressed profound sadness over the shocking news of the death of Ibu last Sunday stating that his passage has left a significant void in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

“The actor’s comic genius, infectious laughter, and captivating screen presence brought joy and laughter to millions across the country and beyond,” he stated.

According to him, Okafor having acted in over 200 movies in his career, it is acknowledged that the immense contributions he made to the growth and development of Nollywood and the creative industry will remain evergreen. 

“His dedication to his craft and his ability to connect with audiences of all ages cemented his place as a true legend of the industry,” he added.

The Governor on behalf of the government and people of Anambra State, commiserated with Mr. Okafor’s family, friends, and colleagues including his Guild of Actors during this difficult time.
