By Uchenna Okeh Abakaliki
The former governorship candidate of the labour party, LP, in the last 2023 general election in Ebonyi State, Splendor Oko-Eze at the weekend said the governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo should be held responsible, if anything happens to Peter Obi.
The Nations News reports that the governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo had banned the former Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi from coming into Edo State, saying that Obi’s security is not granted in the state.
Oko-Eze, a member of the national advisory committee, Obidient movement, in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Abakaliki, warned the Edo State governor to stop looking for recognition by saying what he can not do.
The statement reads in part: The governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo banning Peter Obi from entering Edo State with our his approval and that his security is not guaranteed, is a joke taken too far.
“Most of these APC Governors are highly irresponsible. Instead of them to concentrate on delivering democratic dividends to the people, they are busy running after a man who doesn’t care about them.
“The other day, it was Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia who left securing his people to ban Peter Obi from entering Benue State, it was not long 200 persons were massacred by Fulani Herdsmen. It’s a pity!!!
“Now, it is Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo who can not pronounce #15m, he pronounced it #1.5m banning Peter Obi from entering Edo State without his approval. It’s a shame.
“Mr Monday Okpebholo if anything happens to Peter Obi going forward you will be held responsible. Peter Obi is not your mate by all standard.
“Go and learn your Mathematical figures and leave a man of grace alone, he is not contesting to be come Governor of Edo State rather he wants to be President of Nigeria.
“How will you feel if Peter Obi wins in 2027 and bans you from entering Nigeria? Please be careful. Stop looking for recognition by saying what you can not do.
“If anything happens to Peter Obi in your State then you will see how prepared we are in this struggle. Enough is Enough” he warned.
