Gov. Alia vows to step up security in Jato-Aka/Sankara axis over herdsmen killings in Benue

Benue State Governor Alia, has vowed to step up security measures in Jato-Aka in Kwande and Sankara in Ukum LGAs following incessant attacks and killings by suspected armed herders in the State.
The Governor who wondered why the herders have consistently sustained attacks on Kwande and Ukum LGAs at a time relative peace is recorded in other areas of the state, called for calm in the affected areas
Alia gave this remark after women of the LGAs took to the streets to register their grievances over the security situation in their domains.
Alia spoke through his chief press secretary Tersoo Kula in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday in Makurdi.

The governor assured Kwande and Ukum people of his swift and improved feedback to their situation, noting that the activities of the assailants and their collaborators will become history soon.
“I share your pains, and I assure you that we will step up our response and prompt, too. Read my lips. The remorseless barbarity of these assailants and their sponsors will soon be a thing of the past,” he said.
Alia also promised to ensure that the state is free from armed herdsmen invasion.
He sympathizes with the victims of the recent attacks in Kwande and further called on security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended and dealt with.
The governor also warned those who have been using his name to stir controversy in Kwande and other areas of the state to be wary of the potential consequences of their actions.
