Account for the #100million given to CAN by Gov. Nwifuru – Ogah tells Nwokolo
The Factional chairman of the Christian Association of NIgeria CAN, Ebonyi state chapter, Alloy Ogah has urged the Scamb Nwokolo’s led own leadership to render accurate account of the N100 million and one thousand bags of 50kg rice given to CAN by the governor, Francis Nwifuru.
Ogah who threatened court action against Nwokolo’s led CAN leadership, said that the #100million and 1000 bags of 50kg rice, was given by the governor, Francis Nwifuru last December for the benefits of all CAN members in the state.
Ogah who addressed journalists in Abakaliki, said there is need for proper distribution of the money and rice to all CAN members in the state.
He wondered why Nwokolo and the treasurer, Solomon Eriugo have kept back the entire money and rice for themselves and denied the members of CAN the use of those gifts.
The factional Chairman, Ogah lamented that Nwokolo resorted to setting up Committee to look into the matter instead of giving account or releasing the money and rice, adding that the committee will report back to Nwokolo making him a judge in his own course.
He described the keeping back of the N100 million and 1000 bags of rice as fraud, which he said has been reported to the Commissioner of police, Ebonyi state police Command.
In a swift reaction, Nwokoro who spoke with journalists earlier in the state, said that Ogah and his factional leadership was not members of CAN in the state.
He also said that it’s meaningless replying Ogah’s allegation, and that doing so, is giving him (Ogah) and his cohorts value.
Meanwhile, the state government led by governor Francis Nwifuru had in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Abakaliki by the secretary to the state government, SSG, Grace Umezurike, said the government has no interest in the change of leadership of CAN in the state.
