FRSC confers honorary special marshal on monarch’s chairman, Iweka in Anambra

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Thursday, at Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, Conferred “Honorary Special Marshal’, title on the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Chidubem Iweka 111.
The Nations News reports that the title of “Honorary Special Marshal’, is the highest recognition of the Corps to individuals of outstanding stature and society influence.
The Chief Executive Officer, CEO, FRSC,, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, said, “It is given to leaders whose characters, integrity, and service have made them symbols of inspiration and whose voices can champion the cause of road safety and public discipline for the good of all.

“Equally, your concern for the well being of road users within Obosi and beyond has not gone unnoticed. Through sensitization, community mobilization and your personal example,you have demostrated a rare passion for preventing road traffic crashes and saving lives.
“These are the very values that define an Honorable Special Marshal: discipline, selflessness, integrity and service to humanity. It is on these attributes, your royal highness, Igwe Chidubem Iweka 111, that the FRSC has deemed it fit and proper to confer upon you this distinguished honour .
“We believe that your influence, wisdom and leadership will further inspire your subjects to embrace safe road practices, respect traffic laws, and value life above haste”.
The Corps Marshal, who was ably represented by the Deputy Corps Marshal, Chidiebere Innocent Nkwonta, added further that, “As we present this honour to you today, we also reaffirm our partnership with you and the Obosi kingdom in building safer roads , safer communities and a safer Nigeria.”
In his response, Igwe Iweka, who is also the chairman, Anambra State Traditional Rulers’ Council, lauded the FRSC management for finding him worthy to be so honoured and pledged to abide by the rules governing FRSC even as he paid glowing tribute to the former CEO of FRSC, Chief Osita Chidoka, who according to him brought about the relationship between Obosi community and FRSC.
Igwe Iweka who disclosed that he has commenced work immediately as Special Corps Marshal, reiterated that he is very eager to embark on the job for the good of the society.
Speaking, the Anambra State Coordinator, Special Corps Marshal, Mr Ogbusa Michael, said that Igwe Chidubem Iweka as chairman of Anambra State traditional rulers Council, merited the title coupled with his contribution to road safety.
“This honour will add to what he has been doing to safe lives and property, it is an honour well deserved,” he stated.
Contributing, a chieftain in Nkpor, Chibuzor Okeke, expressed satisfaction with the honour given to Igwe Obosi stating that he is equal to the task.
He commended the FRSC for finding him worthy to be so honoured adding that Igwe Iweka is always interested in the welfare of humanity.
“With this honour he will perform more than is expected of him because he has the strength as a youth,” he stated.
Also the chairman of Ime Obosi youths, Nduka Chijindu, expressed satisfaction with the honoured accorded to their monarch adding that it is an honour well deserved.
Among those who graced the occasion included, Assistant Corps Marshal in charge of Edo, Delta and Anambra states, Mrs Stella Orakwue, Anambra State Sector Commander, CC Joyce Alexander, among others
