Ex- Guber aspirant, council Chairman task lawyers on exemplary practices
… Celebrates Barr. Abdulkarim’s SANdship

Lawyers are being reminded of their ethical obligations and the importance of exemplary practice by playing a critical role in upholding the integrity of the legal profession, and exemplary practice is essential to achieving this goal.
Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, a former Governorship Aspirant and the current honorary special adviser on inter-governmental affairs to the governor of Zamfara State made the disclosure during the reception held for Barr. Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude shortly after his inauguration as one of the 57 Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) by the Supreme Court of Nigeria in Abuja on Monday.
Recall that the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun administered the oath of office to 57 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs), marking a significant milestone in the country’s legal calendar.

Speaking to newsmen, Shinkafin said ” Attaining the prestigious title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) is a significant milestone. It is the peak of the legal practitioners. Barr. Abdulkarim’s achievements are marvelous and I think today is the happiest day of his life after the day he was married.
” It’s a very historic day that he and his family, friends and well-wishers will be proud of. We wish him God’s guidance in his legal profession and with his fear the sky is his limit.
Shinkafin emphasized that every young lawyer’s last wish is to attend the prestigious position of SAN just like a graduate pursuing academic discipline (lecturer) would like to attain the doctoral and professor’s position.
He advised aspiring and Young lawyers to be dedicated to the profession and be steadfast in whatever they are doing because SANship is not attained by nepotism but by your Hard working and commitment, depending on how many cases you have won in the trial high court, court of appeal and the supreme Court. Number of appearance and good character going through a serious integrity test.
On his part, The Executive Chairman of Minjibir local government, Jibrin Nalado Aliyu revealed that Barr. Abdulkarim is setting the record as the first indigenous son of the local government to attain the position of SAN therefore the entire council came to celebrate with him.
He said ” We’re very happy to come and witness the inauguration of Barr. Maude as Senior Advocate of Nigeria. He is the first son of Minjibir Local Government to attain that position.
Aliyu stressed that Barr. Maude has beyond his legal career made significant contributions through his philanthropic efforts including touching the lives of their communities in the council.
The Chairman tasked the youths to embrace education as the key to success in life noting that their present here is because Barr. Maude has taken the step in pursuing education.
