Uchenna Okeh, Abakaliki
The former gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party, LP, in the last 2023 general election in Ebonyi state, Oko Eze Splendour has warned Edward Nkwegu Okereke to desist from claiming to be a Guber candidate, and using the name of labour Party to transact business in the state.
Oko Eze who made this known in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State, said that Nkwagu was a mole sent by APC to distract Labour Party in Ebonyi State.
The statement reads in part: “For record purposes, Arc Edward Nkwegu Okereke was not the Governorship Candidate of Labour Party in 2023 in Ebonyi State as stated by him today 13/07/2024 at Ebonyi State Township Stadium when he rejoined his party APC.
“He was a mole sent by the APC to distract the Labour Party in Ebonyi State using Julius Abure, the former illegal National Chairman of the Labour Party as a willing Tool.
“I remain the authentic Governorship Candidate of Labour Party 2023 in Ebonyi State. The Labour Party under my watch will never allow hijackers to highjack the party and use it for transactions instead of winning elections in Ebonyi State.
“We can not be intimidated. We are resolute in our determination to win elections going forward in Ebonyi State. Ebonyi State can never be a one party state as planned by APC.
“I encourage our numerous members across the 13 LGAS in Ebonyi State to remain law-abiding Citizens while preparing for the upcoming Ward/LGA/State Congresses and National Convention that is coming!!!
“I urge the leadership of the National Transition Committee (NTC) to continue the good work of repositioning our great party towards winning elections in Nigeria. The Labour Party is the answer!!!” He stated.
