Easter: Niger Police deploy massive officers to combat crimes

The Niger State Police Command has deployed massive human and material resources towards a hitch-free festivity in the twenty five local government areas of the state.
The Command’s public Relations officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun who made this known in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Minia, said the officers and men of the Command are battle ready towards ensuring a peaceful Easter celebration.
He explained that, ” in view of the Easter celebration schedule to hold between 18th-21st April, 2025, the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman orders adequate deployment of Police personnel and operational assets to provide security coverage
” To all places of worship, recreational centers, amusement parks, and other public places including critical infrastructures for public safety, towards ensuring a peaceful Easter celebration and beyond.
According to the police information officer, the directive of the Commissioner of Police was passed to Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and DPOs during the Command’s mid-week meeting held at the Conference room of the State Police Headquarters, Minna on 16th April, 2025.
He noted that at the meeting, they were ordered to deploy assets and personnel adequately to dominate public places, ensure visibility policing across the State and boost public confidence in a secured environment for peaceful celebration.

The State Police command felicitates with Nigerlites, especially the Christian community, on the occasion of the Easter celebrations.
He also appreciates residents for their support and calls on them to continue to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies by providing prompt and actionable information to prevent and detect crime.
He reiterates that as we commemorate the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Christ, it is only in togetherness we can fight crime for a safe and peaceful environment. Finally, he urges members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious situation to the Police for quick intervention.
Meanwhile, the Police have released some emergency contact information for the public if they observe any unusual of unusual movement within their communities.
