Easter: Enugu CP, Uzuegbu deploys officers to prevent breakdown of laws, order

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, on Friday ordered for the deployment of officers to ensure prevention of crimes, breakdown of laws and order in the state.
Uzuegbu who made this known through in a statement signed and issued to newsmen by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, assured christians of a peaceful Easter celebration in the state.
He urged Christians to celebrate this year’s Easter, which marks the crucifixion, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, just as he assured them of adequate security before, during, and after the period of the celebration.
The statement reads in part: “The Commissioner has ordered Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Heads of Tactical and Operational Squads of the Command to deploy all the intelligence and operational resources at their disposal, dominate, and ensure visibility patrols and crime prevention in their areas of responsibility.
He, therefore, calls on citizens of Enugu State to celebrate responsibly, in peace, and make as a daily lifestyle, the sacrifices of love to one another, especially by catering for the poor, needy, and the sick.
The Commissioner further enjoins citizens of Enugu State to continue to be law-abiding, vigilant, and promptly report suspected criminals and their activities to the nearest Police Station.
