2027: Tinubu urges Govs to prioritize Citizens’ Welfare
By Yagana Ali Minna
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on state governors to focus on improving citizens’ lives, describing investment in people as the most profitable venture in a democracy.
Tinubu made the appeal while commissioning projects in Adamawa State, emphasizing that good governance hinges on meeting people’s needs and aspirations.

“Governance is about service and measurable impact,” Tinubu said. “The only profitable investment in democracy is investment in the people.” He urged governors to drive economic growth, develop infrastructure, enhance healthcare, reform education, and expand social protection programmes.
Tinubu praised Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s leadership, calling him a “true reflection of who we are as a united people.” He encouraged residents to support their governors, enabling them to deliver on their mandates.
Fintiri highlighted key projects, including a new NYSC camp, Yola Model School, and infrastructure upgrades. He announced plans to recruit 5,000 teachers, address water scarcity, and name the NYSC camp after Tinubu.

The governor emphasized education as the greatest weapon against poverty and vowed to tackle insecurity with federal authorities. Tinubu expressed optimism about Adamawa’s future, seeing hope in its people, and reiterated his call for leaders to engage citizens in governance.
The event showcased the power of collaborative governance, with Tinubu and Fintiri demonstrating a shared commitment to improving lives.
