C’River: Health agency vows to eradicate diseases amongst children
…..Flags off big catch up routine immunization intensification

The State primary health care development agency in collaboration with the ministry of health and their partners have vowed to eradicate diseases amongst children in Cross River state
The Nations News Nigeria reports that the State primary health care development agency flagged off big catch up routine immunization intensification in Calabar, capital of Cross state.
The Director General of the agency, Vivian Mesembe Otu who spoke during the flag off, said that the event is necessary so as to ensure that children who were not immunized before, have the opportunity to do so against any form of disease
She stressed that the big catch up is in three local government areas of cross river state which include, Calabar Municipality, Akpabuyo and Ikom LGAs, stating that the reason for the three LGAs is because Data available shows that immunization statistics in these LGAs are low, hence the need for the routine immunization intensification
“This is an opportunity for us to catch up with those who were not immunized before
and for the mothers to get their children immunized against any form of diseases”.
“We have to combat and prevent every diseases, that is why we are doing everything to ensure that every child in the state is vaccinated” she maintained
Otu then called on mothers in the affected local government areas to take advantage of the window and bring their children out for the immunization exercise
Partners for the exercise include; the Break Through Action, WHO, UNICEF and the National Primary health care development agency.
