Breaking news: 5 suspected police officers, 2 prostitutes allegedly killed by unknown gunmen in Ebonyi

No fewer than Five suspected police officers and two prostitutes have been reportedly killed by unknown gunmen along hilltop road in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State.

A reliable source who spoke to The Nations News Nigeria, noted that the victims were reportedly killed at the early hours of Friday morning.

It was gathered that the massacre of the said police officers and two visiting hook-up girls occured close to a Gas station, Ebyia bridge along Hilltop/ Nwoke road.

Recall that, some police officers on patrol were recently attacked and killed by unknown gunmen at the same area.

The Nations News Nigeria reports that the Ebonyi State Police Command led by CP. Augustina Ogbodo had mounted a police checkpoint near the said Gas station, to avert attacks by hoodlums, breakdown of laws and order in the area.

When contacted for reaction, the Police spokesperson DSP Joshua Ukandu was not picking calls or responding to text messages sent to him by our correspondent, at the time of filling this report.

Also, the commissioner of police CP, Augustina Ogbodo who was called on phone for reaction, said she is in a function and can’t respond to the incident.
