Breaking: again, unknown gunmen attack police officers, raze vehicle in Ebonyi

Unknown gunmen in their numbers at the early hours of Thursday allegedly attacked police officers and set vehicle ablaze at Ishieke police check point, Abakaliki Ebonyi State.
The Nations News Nigeria reports that this attack came barely three weeks, after the murder of four police officers and two girls by unknown gunmen at hilltop junction.
It was gathered that the unknown gunmen stormed the Ishieke police check point, and started shooting sporadically, then set ablaze a vehicle that was stationed there.
A source who spoke to The Nations News Nigeria anonymity alleged that the unknown gunmen killed one police officer, kidnapped one and then set a vehicle ablaze there.
When contacted, the Ebonyi State police command spokesperson, DSP Joshua Ukandu confirmed the attack, but denied the alleged killing or abduction of any police officer by the said unknown gunmen.
“An incident happened this morning but still trying to put the details together. At this point, I can’t confirm much, let me get my facts right.
“I just got an information that there was an attack at that point but I don’t have any other information” he stated.
