Bauchi police arrest 748 suspects for involvement in various crimes

Bauchi State Police Command on Thursday said that it has successfully arrested over 748 suspects linked to various criminal activities in five months.
The State Police Commissioner, Sani-Omolori Aliyu said this in a press briefing with journalists, held at his office, yandoka road of the police headquarters in Bauchi.

Sani-Omolori said that the suspects arrested in five months were not only from Bauchi but outside the State.
“Since my assumption of duty as the 46th Commissioner of Police, the Bauchi State Police Command has remained steadfast in addressing crime and criminality within the state. The Command has executed its responsibilities with professionalism, and strong emphasis on effective intelligence gathering, resulting in significant advancements in our policing endeavors for the betterment of the society”
Summary of significant achievements including of Armed Robbery: Fifty-seven (57) cases resulting in the arrest of one hundred thirteen (113) suspects, Culpable Homicide: Seventy-eight (78) cases with one hundred seventy-one (171) suspects apprehended, Attempted Culpable Homicide: Fourteen (14) cases leading to the arrest of twenty-four (24) suspects, Grievous Hurt: Seven (7) cases resulting in the arrest of sixteen (16) suspects.
Others cases are Rape and Indecent Assault: Forty-four (44) cases with seventy-two (72) suspects arrested, Kidnapping: Four (4) cases resulting in the apprehension of seven (7) suspects, Theft and Other Forms of Stealing: Twenty (20) cases leading to the arrest of thirty-seven (37) suspects, False Pretense Cheating: One hundred and seventeen (117) cases resulting in the apprehension of one hundred and six (106) suspects.

While others are Mischief by Fire: Two (2) cases with three (3) suspects arrested, Forgery of Currency Notes: Two (2) cases resulting in the arrest of two (2) suspects, Breach of Public Peace: Nine (9) cases with twenty-nine (29) suspects apprehended, Unnatural Offences: Two (2) cases leading to the arrest of two (2) suspects, Other criminal cases: thirty (30) cases with fifty-four (54) suspects, twenty (20) cases were charged to court, ten (10) cases are under investigation; six (6) cases were successfully convicted with ten (10) suspects.
“On 12 July 2025, at about 0915hours, one Abdulkadir Garba, a male aged 35years residing at DP 21 behind Federal Secretariat, Bauchi, reported to the B’ Division Police Headquarters that on the same date at about 0200hours, an unidentified group of four (4) individuals armed with dangerous weapons unlawfully entered his residence and robbed him of his valuables, including one Samsung S23 smartphone valued at one million two hundred thousand naira (N1,200,000).
other items includes; one iPhone 14 Pro Max valued at one million four hundred thousand naira (N1,400,000), one Tecno Android phone valued at three hundred eighty thousand naira (₦380,000), one HP Specter 360 laptop valued at one million two hundred thousand naira (N1,200,000), and coerced him into transferring the sum of three million three hundred thousand naira (₦3,300,000) into their Monie point bank account.

The police commissioner, Sani-Omolori Aliyu said that the exhibits recovered during the period include of One (1) Pump action, One (1) Motor vehicle Camry model, One (1) Volkswagen, One (1) Mercedes Benz C180, One (1) Wagolf, One (1) Volkswagen Vento, One (1) Keke Napep, One (1) TVS motorcycle, One (1) Bajaj motorcycle

Also, One (1) Axe, Sixty (60) bags of Illicit Fertilizer, One (1) Touchscreen Laptop, Thirty-eight million naira, One Techno Spark, One Infinix HOT
Reasonable quantity of Electric Cable valued N200,000, Three iPhone Pro Max, One Samsung galaxy, Twenty-three bags of Cement, Ninety (90) bags of pepe, One Ipad Techno and One P.O.S machine (Monie point).
