By Yagana Ali Yola The leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has reaffirmed the party’s unity and preparedness for the 2027 general elections, presenting certificates of return to its candidates while dismissing reports of internal division and calling on aggrieved members to return to the party. Addressing party supporters during the presentation ceremony, the PDP governorship candidate for Adamawa State chief Morris vunobolki said the gathering was not a political campaign, but a formal event to hand over certificates of return and officially confirm the party’s candidates for the 2027 elections. According to him, the exercise was aimed at putting an end to what he described as “misrepresentations of facts and propaganda” surrounding the party’s affairs, stressing that the PDP remains one united political family across Nigeria. He maintained that the party is under the national leadership of Hon. Abraham Mohammed as National Chairman and Senator Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary, adding that the party’s National Executive Committee had recently ratified the outcomes of the PDP primary elections conducted across the country, including those in Adamawa State. “The purpose of today’s gathering is not to campaign. We are here to present the certificates of return to all our candidates in Adamawa State.he said This should finally put to rest all the misinformation and propaganda being circulated about our party. PDP remains one united political party throughout Nigeria,” he said. The party’s flag bearer explained that alongside the certificates of return, candidates also received the relevant nomination forms issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which would enable them to complete the necessary documentation for their participation in the 2027 general elections. Vunobolki congratulated all PDP candidates across the country on their successful emergence from the party primaries and expressed confidence that the party was well-positioned to reclaim electoral victories nationwide. Extending an olive branch to members who may have become disenchanted, the PDP candidate urged them to reunite with the party, describing the PDP as a broad and accommodating platform capable of embracing everyone willing to contribute to its success. “Our doors remain open. PDP has a big umbrella that can accommodate everyone. We are not interested in quarrelling or competing with anyone within the party. Our focus is on building unity and preparing for victory in the 2027 general elections,” he stated. Turning his attention to Adamawa State, the governorship hopeful promised a new political direction centred on the people, pledging to end what he described as the era of godfather politics. He said the PDP’s vision is to ensure that the people of Adamawa become the true owners of their government, insisting that leadership should be driven by the will of the electorate rather than political influence. “We are determined to bring an end to the politics of godfatherism. The people of Adamawa State will own their government because government belongs to the people, is run by the people, and exists for the people,” he declared to loud cheers from party supporters. The event concluded with party faithful chanting solidarity slogans as leaders expressed optimism that a united PDP would emerge stronger ahead of the 2027 elections, urging members to remain steadfast and committed to the party’s quest for electoral success in Adamawa State and across Nigeria.

Dabareje AG, an agricultural enterprise operating across Adamawa State and parts of Nigeria’s North- East, is investing in the future of young people by providing practical agricultural training designed to transform unemployed youths into successful agripreneurs. Although the company began with a strong focus on crop production, it has strategically shifted its operations to meet emerging opportunities in the livestock sector. Today, its activities comprise 70 percent livestock production and 30 percent crop farming, while continuing to provide a wide range of agricultural services across the region. Driven by a commitment to youth empowerment, the company has already trained 120 young men and women during the first phase of its agricultural development programme. Encouraged by the positive outcomes, Double AG is preparing to launch a second phase that aims to train an additional 500 youths. Speaking on the initiative, the chairman of the farm safiw daware said the programme was inspired by the growing number of educated but unemployed young people in Adamawa State who possess the potential to succeed if given the right skills and opportunities. “As a practicing farmer who grew up in Adamawa State, I realised that many young men and women have completed different levels of education but are still without meaningful employment. We felt it was our responsibility to contribute to addressing this challenge through practical agricultural training,” the company explained. According to the management, the goal is not merely to teach farming techniques but to equip participants with entrepreneurial skills that enable them to establish sustainable businesses, earn a decent income and support their families. “We want them to see agriculture as an enterprise. When they acquire these skills, they can provide for themselves, support their relatives and create better lives for their children.” The company believes that empowering young people economically will have a ripple effect across communities by reducing poverty, creating employment and addressing some of the social challenges associated with youth unemployment. “When a community is empowered, many young people can be lifted out of extreme poverty. It also contributes to increased economic activities, generates revenue for the state and helps reduce social vices to the barest minimum,” the management noted. Double AG is now calling on government agencies, development partners, private organisations and philanthropists to support the expansion of the programme, stressing that collaboration will enable more young Nigerians to benefit from the initiative. The company described youth empowerment through agriculture as a shared responsibility capable of strengthening food security while creating sustainable livelihoods. Admission into the training programme follows a straightforward process. Interested applicants are expected to demonstrate genuine commitment to learning, comply with the programme’s rules and regulations and possess at least a secondary school education. According to the company, basic education is essential because participants must be able to read, write and communicate effectively to quickly understand modern agricultural practices and apply the knowledge successfully. While the current programme is focused on Adamawa State, Double AG has set its sights on a much broader vision. The company revealed that its long-term strategic plan is to expand the initiative across all six North-East states, bringing practical agricultural skills and business opportunities to thousands more young people. As Nigeria continues to search for sustainable solutions to youth unemployment and food insecurity, initiatives like Double AG’s are demonstrating that investment in agriculture can produce more than food—it can cultivate hope, restore confidence and empower a new generation to become drivers of economic growth.
