APPSN Inaugurates C’River Exco, Promises To Crack Down on Quacks

Association of Private Practicing Surveyors of Nigeria, (APPSN), has inaugurated Cross River State executive, threatening to withdraw licenses of members caught in unprofessional conduct and land racket.
The Association National Chairman, Surveyor Dabiri Thomas issued the threat during the swearing in ceremony of Surveyor Mathew Editor led exco, yesterday in Calabar, Cross River State capital.
Speaking in an interview with our Correspondent in Calabar shortly after swearing in the new executive, Dabiri warned that the association under his watch will not fold it’s arms and watched her members engaged in unprofessional and unethical practice that drags the association’s image to the mud.
“Punishment ranging from publishing of names on the pages of newspapers, which might not be a good one, that they are not practicing well.
“Some Will have their licenses withdrawn for not practicing well and for those quacks, they may go to jail.
He threatened that the leadership of the association will ensure that quacks parading themselves with fake papers as surveyors are thrown to jail.
“We know that we have good punitive measures for any impersonation or somebody who is been portraying himself as one but not.
“We called on our members not to fall fowl of the professional ethics, rules and regulations.
Also speaking, newly inaugurated APPSN chairman, (Cross River State), Surv. Mathew Edokor, cautioned residents of the state against allowing themselves to fall prey to impostors issuing fake papers as survey plan to unsuspecting members of the public.
The new chairman who pledged to serve diligently to the best of his ability, promised to do everything within the reach of the association to kick imposters out of business in the state.
