Again bandits Kill 13 persons in Mariga LGA of Niger State

Barely two weeks after a fire fight between security agencies and bandits led to the death of seventeen soldiers and several bandits in Mariga local government area of Niger State, the dare devil criminals have killed another 13 person’s in the area.
The Suspected bandits carried out a surprise raid on some communities leading to no fewer than 13 people including security operatives killed again
They reportedly killed some while many others were injured in Mariga local government area of Niger state which is now turning the epic centre of banditry in Niger state.
Sources from the Area said the incident occurred on Tuesday around 4pm when the suspects in their numbers carrying sophisticated weapons and carrying three persons per bike numbering about one hundred motorcycles allegedly troop in from Zamfara state.
The eye witness revealed that three communities that were attacked in the process are Kumbashi, Bangi and Mongoro putting them under siege and noted that out of the 13 casualties were one mobile police officer and two vigilantes among others.
The eyewitness disclosed that the armed men also blew off a communication mast to halt communication in the area in order to carry out smooth operations in the affected communities.
The Source further noted that the bandits were out for alleged reprisal attacks on the communities following the recent Air Force raid on hideouts of the criminals leading to severe casualties on their side.

When contacted, the local government chairman, Alhaji Abbas Kasuwa Garba confirmed the development, saying that he can not confirm the actual casualty for now but there is serious tension within the area due to the continued presence of the bandits.
Also contacted, the Niger State command Police Public Relations Officer PPRO SP Wasiu Abiodun could not be reached at the time of filing the report.
