The Adamawa State Police Command has foiled a kidnap attempt and arrested two suspects linked to the threat.
The suspects, Abdulraman Musa and Adamu Orte, were apprehended following an investigation into threatening calls made to a resident of Song LGA.
In a statement signed by the police, public relations officer SP Sulaiman Yahaya Ngroje stated that the victim, Hassan Musa Dabutu, had received calls from an unknown subscriber demanding money to prevent his kidnapping.
This incident follows a series of kidnappings in the area, where a ransom of ₦20 million was paid for the release of abducted family members.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, directed operatives from the State Intelligence Department (SID) to investigate. The swift response led to the arrest of the suspects.
The police recovered a SIM card and handset used in the commission of the crime.
The investigation is ongoing, and the suspects will face prosecution upon completion. The police remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in Adamawa State.
