Ebonyi varsity to hold 1st Alumni Lecture, picks Anyaso to deliver keynote address

Ebonyi State University (EBSU), jubilates as a philanthropist and politician, Chima Desmond Anyaso sets to storm Ebonyi to deliver keynote address at the university’s first-ever Alumni Lecture slated to hold July 10, 2025.
The lecture, themed “From Classroom to Boardroom: The Power of Education in Shaping Destiny,” will highlight Anyaso’s inspiring journey from being part of EBSU’s pioneer set in 1999 to becoming CEO of the Caades Group, with investments spanning real estate, oil and gas, healthcare, and hospitality.
Anyaso’s philanthropic foundations have supported youth through scholarships and mentorship, earning him multiple national and African awards.
The event is expected to inspire students and strengthen alumni ties, marking a milestone for EBSU and its growing community.
Preparations for the event, organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, are in full swing, with students, faculty, and alumni mobilizing to attend. Cultural displays and a dinner will complement the lecture.
Speaking ahead of the event, Anyaso said: “I am filled with humility and gratitude as I share this good news. Being invited to deliver the first-ever Distinguished Alumni Lecture in the history of Ebonyi State University is a full circle moment for me.”

He also described the occasion as “a historic moment” and extended an invitation to “friends, family, associates, and former classmates” to join him.
The Bende Patriotic Forum (BPF) praised Anyaso’s selection, stating in a message signed by its leaders: “Anyaso has consistently demonstrated excellence, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to community development.”
They added, “His inspiring journey from the classrooms of EBSU to the boardrooms of major industries embodies the theme of this lecture.”
