No fewer than eighty three personnel of the Nigeria security civil defense corps, NSCDC, Ebonyi State command have passed out from the 2025 armed training.
The Nations News Nigeria reports that the NSCDC personnel were trained for one month on armed operations at the Brigade headquarters located Amaekpu, Ohafia, Abia State.
The Ebonyi State commandant of the NSCDC, Francis Nnadi who spoke to newsmen shortly after the end of the parade of the newly trained personnel that took place at the NSCDC headquarters Abakaliki, vowed to clampdown on criminals in the state.
“The NSCDC Ebonyi State command actually commenced arms training of its 83 personnel that started one month ago and ended last Friday at the brigade headquarters Ohafia, where they passed out, and today was the parade, certificate issuing and award for them.
“And furthermore is the deployment in Ebonyi State to make sure that we have enough output on ground to tackle any form of insecurity in the state. That’s the essence of this training.

“The more the criminals, the non-state actors, the more they upscale their skills, we have to be a step ahead. So, this training is a continuous exercise.
“Most of them have gone through special force training, counterterrorism training, large-scale, medium-scale training, just to make sure that we are not caught behind.”As it stands, we have a collaboration with the state government to provide security at the Chuba Okadigbo airport. We have to provide security there.
“And that’s one of the reasons why we’re doing this. partnering with the state government to make sure that we secure our areas of concern. Of course, critical infrastructures of the state, federal and local government are under our purview.
“So, the essence of this training is to make sure we equip them further to secure these places. And I can beat my chest and say yes, they did well.
Nnadi, however, charged the newly trained personnel to be d
isciplined, adding that for any trained armed personnel, ‘you’re more disciplined when you’re armed’.”I won’t say ruthless when you’re not armed, but more disciplined when you’re armed. That’s the only language meant for them. Be vigilant, seal your mouth, open your ears, and your eyes, and be more disciplined because you’re carrying out your duties.
“We have what we call rules of engagement, which must be strictly adhered to. In a real sense, there is nothing like accidental discharge. It doesn’t happen. You must obey the rules of engagement if you are engaged. The newly trained personnel are professionals. And I can assure you, there will be nothing like accidental discharge. The commandant, Nnadi further emphasized that NSCDC has become one of the majorsecurity architecture to be reckoned with in Nigeria, courtesy of the efforts of the commandant-general, Ahmed Abubakar Audi.
