Easter : CLO urges Tinubu to show kindness and reopen Onitsha Drugs Market

The chairman, Civil Liberties Organization, CLO , Anambra State Branch, Vincent Ezekwueme, has called on Christians to exhibit the actions of Jesus Christ by showing love, peace, kindness, empathy, humility, self-denial and selfless services.

Ezekwueme made this plea in his Easter Message themed “Among bad men, bad religious men are worst’ saying they are called to be closer and nearer to God and appealed to Christians not to go back to their sinful lives after forty days of fasting, praying and alms giving that symbolizes forty days of period of Lent.

 He enjoined them to live life of holiness, righteousness, selflessness, humility, love, steadfastness and uprightness.

“It is pertinent for Christians to imbibe and live out lessons and significance of Easter by genuine repentance ,reconciling with one another, putting smiles on the faces of less privileged. Visitations to orphanages, prisons and hospitals which is the reason for the season.

He quoted mother Theresa of Calcutta that “one has not lived unless he lives for others, saying “As Christ has died for us, we should be ready and willing to live and I if need be die for others.

“Our Political, traditional and religious leaders should use this period to educate citizens to obtain their voters card and ensure that they take active participation during Anambra November 8th governorship election.

CLO equally appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to use this Easter period to show love, empathy and fatherly care to Onitsha Drugs Market traders by ordering for urgent reopening of their closed markets as best and greatest Easter gift to them.

“It is disgusting and disheartening that irrefutable information at our disposal indicates that nine traders of the affected markets have died, to avert more loss of lives, President Tinubu should kindly apply political solution expediently.

‘May love, grace, mercy, wisdom and power of Christ resurrection be upon us beyond our highest hopes and expectations through Jesus Christ our Lord Amen,” he prayed.
