Breaking: Gov. Nwifuru appoints Ugota Awoke as Vice Chancellor of Ebonyi varsity

The governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru at the weekend has approved the appointment of Michael Ugota Awoke as the vice Chancellor of the State University , EBSU.
The Nations News Nigeria reports that the appointment of Awoke as the vice chancellor followed the expiration of tenure of the former vice chancellor, Chigozie Ogbu, a former deputy governor of the state.
The governor made this known in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Abakaliki capital of Ebonyi State by the chief press secretary, Monday Uzor on Sunday.
Nwifuru stressed that the appointment of Awoke as the vice chancellor of EBSU was made possible through the recommendation of the governing council of the University.
It was gathered that, the new vice chancellor, Awoke before his appointment is a professor of Agricultural Economics and former Vice Chancellor Academic of the State University.
The governor also appointed; Ike Elechi Ogba as Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, and Michael Ajanwachukwu as Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration.
Others are; Mrs Ugochinyere Mba Uka , Registrar; Mrs Roseline Nwuzor, Bursar and Mrs Victoria Nwalli, Librarian.
The Governor who announced the appointments shortly after a church service at the government House Chapel, said the newly appointed principal officers will be sworn- in on Tuesday 11th February, 2025
The Governor also recalled four commissioners and the Executive Secretary of the State Primary HealthCare Development Agency who were suspended last November.
They are , Commissioners for Health Moses Ekuma; Water Resources, Chinedum Nkah; Housing, Francis Orie and Local Government, Uchenna Igwe..
He warned contractors handling Government projects to ensure speedy execution or face the wrath of the government.
