From Chinelo Kodilichukwu Enugu
The Parish priest of St Brigid catholic parish Asata Enugu, Reverend Father Charles Igbokwe have urged Nigeria Citizens in this new year 2025, to shun tribalism and embrace peace, unity and love.
Igbokwe during an interview with our correspondent in his parish in Enugu pointed out that tribalism is one of the major problems that is bedeviling our country Nigeria.
He reminded Nigerians that they are brothers and sisters and should allow the love, unity and peace that Jesus Christ brought into the world to reign in their life and in the country.
He further advises them to repent and change to good character so that kidnapping, killings, corruption and other vices will stop in the country, stressing that these vices are caused by lack of conscience.
Furthermore, the clergy charged Nigerian leaders to always put the interest of the Nigerian citizens at heart first ,before making decisions or policies, and he also warned them to stop enmassing wealth which they will leave one day and go, noting that “this world is ephemeral”.
“We are praying for our president, Governors, local government Chairmen and leaders of other parastatals in Nigeria, that God will give them grace to lead their subjects very well”.
“That God will touch the hearts of Nigerians so that they will know it is good to put the interest of others first before we do anything, that there will be divine encounter, divine turn around and things will get better, and new Joy will come into our lives” he said.
