The Ministry of Livestock in Adamawa State has launched a digital platform for reporting and monitoring livestock diseases in real time.
The Nations News Nigeria reports that this initiative is part of the state government’s efforts to promote digital governance and improve the livestock industry.
The Convener of the programme who is the Director of Veterinary Services and Epidemiology (DVS), Nyalas Barth disclosed that the platform was developed in collaboration with PROPCOM+, a non-governmental organization that focuses on promoting community development, health, and well-being.
It was gathered that the platform allows for the collection, analysis, and reporting of disease outbreaks, enabling swift response and decision-making.
The Ministry of Livestock has also provided training for its staff on the use of digital tools, including iPads, Android smartphones, and other electronic machines, to enhance their capacity for disease reporting and monitoring.
Investigation revealed that this initiative is expected to improve the state’s ability to respond to disease outbreaks, reduce the risk of disease transmission, and promote the overall health and well-being of livestock in Adamawa State.
