FRSC Conducts training for over 400 Road Marshals On Rescue Operations In Nigeria

The Federal Road Safety Corps Road Marshal Assistant Training School in Shendam, Plateau State, has conducted a one-week training course for four hundred and fifteen(415) Road Marshal Assistants across Nigeria on rescue operations.

The training course which started from 25th to 30th August 2024, was aimed at repositioning FRSC for Enhanced Service Delivery in Patrol and Rescue Operations in Nigeria.

Declaring the course closed, the Commandant of the school, Mallam Yakubu Mohammad, said the training was FRSC’s commitment to the continuous training and retraining of personnel to align with realistic expectations.

He further explained that the one-week training program was designed to equip the Road Marshal Assistants with the necessary skills and professionalism for their duties.

The Commandant expressed confidence that the course had provided the participants with valuable knowledge on rescue operations, enforcement, use of technology, discipline, integrity, inter-agency collaboration, and civility towards members of the public.

Mallam Mohammad, therefore urged the course participants to become change agents in their respective commands.

He also enjoined them to make judicious use of the knowledge gained during the training and to act as good ambassadors of the Corps.

“You must exhibit civility in your operations. Motorists must also strive to obey traffic rules and cooperate with the road marshals to prevent unprovoked knockdowns involving the operatives during patrol or rescue operations as this will no longer be tolerated by the Corps, he warned.
