Hunger protest: Enugu residents desert streets as shops, markets, businesses shut down

Residents of Enugu State on Thursday deserted the streets as there were no protesters found on the streets protesting for “end bad government/ hunger’ protest in Nigeria.
Our correspondent who moved round the Enugu State metropolis to monitor compliance to the hunger protest, observed that banks, markets, Shops, offices were shut down.
Motor parks were not functional at new market and holy ghost axis.
The roads were free and few tricycle operators were seen on the roads, while children were busy playing football on the streets.
Security operatives were also seen patrolling with their vehicle on the major roads.
One of the residents of the stat, jeoma Ani living at Onusata area, said that she supported the protest, adding that people are suffering and things are very expensive, “Nigerians want good governance ameliorate their suffering” she said.
Another resident, Emeka Agu who lives at Okpara Avenue said that he supported the hunger protest. According to him, “What I want is for Tinubu to resign because his administration has brought a lot of hunger and hardship on people” he said.
