EFCC arrests 8 suspected internet fraudsters in Uyo

The Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC said it has apprehended eight persons suspected to be involved in internet fraud.
The EFCC Spokesperson, Dele Oyewale made this known in a statement signed and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.
Oyewale noted that the suspects were arrested on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Osongama Extension following an actionable intelligence.
Items recovered from the suspects includes; seven laptops; 13 smart phones; two wrist watches and one router.
He added that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
The statement reads in part, “Operatives of Uyo Zonal Command of the EFCC on Thursday May 2, 2024 arrested eight suspected internet fraudsters in an early morning sting operation at Osong Ama Extension in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
“They were arrested following credible intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet fraud.
“Items recovered from them include, seven laptops; 13 smart phones; two wrist watches and one router”.
