Senator Ken Eze, representing Ebonyi Central senatorial zone of the state and the former senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Laz Ogbee who recently defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has continued to fight dirty ahead of the 2027 and 2031 elections in the state.

The Nations News Nigeria reports that the fight between the two prominent sons of Ezza South LGA, resumed recently when the former senatorial candidate of PDP for Ebonyi Central zone, Laz Ogbee decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, that took place in the area.

It was gathered that the defection of Ogbee and others, especially in the Ebonyi Central senatorial zone into the APC, has generated lots of tension and mixed reactions from prominent stakeholders of the state.

Senator Eze and Ogbee’s hostility resumed, especially with the trade of war of words by their media teams; Onyechimereze and Agunechemba.

Ogbee in a statement accused senator, Eze of jittering and crying uncontrollably over his defection into the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

The statement reads in part:”Throwing tantrums at people cannot and will never help a drowning person. This is not time to chase shadows rather to demonstrate leadership ability. Introducing unknown political calendar, fighting party directives and structure is alien to partisan politics.

“It could be recalled that in 2015 general election, Sen. Ken Eze who was Labour party House of Assembly Candidate for Ezza South State Constituency defected to People’s Democratic Party, PDP, after the first election where his Labour Party failed abysmally in Ezza South, Amagu/Nsokkara Ward and his polling boot without any formal means of defection.

“Today, you are verbally against the persons that welcomed you to party fold then with goodwill and later gave you the opportunity to climb up politically. From being appointed Co-ordinator to elected Chairman and a Senator by same structure.

“Today you are deciding the way and manner of joining a party; What an irony of fate? Why are you crying uncontrollably over a defection of others instead of welcoming them with open arms for the interest of the party APC.

“Political party is a union for everybody as enshrined in our laws, we are coming into All Progressive Congress, APC, because we decided and choose to support our friend, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru who is doing excellent well in office.

“We advised Sen. Ken Eze to leave Unwu Ekumaenyi Sons and Daughters alone who voluntarily wish to defect to APC to work with our dear Governor Francis Nwifuru to breath and channel to his energy to represent good people of Ebonyi Central Zone rather than sponsoring campaign of calumny, division and mutiny against leaders who mentored him politically.

“Ken Eze should learn unequal humility, sincerity of purpose and peaceful disposition of the Governor Francis Nwifuru as being demonstrated daily and know very well that he is not God and his ill-advised, acrimonious lifestyle and slandering CANNOT stop Lazarus Nweru Ogbee” he stated.

In a swift reaction, Sen. Ken Eze berated the former PDP senatorial candidate of PDP, Laz Ogbee for trying to heat the fire of the political tension in Ezza South LGA, ahead of the 2027 and 2031 elections in the state.

“let us make it clear that Sen. Kenneth Eze has no issues whatsoever with Lazarus Ogbe. Immediately after the elections, Sen Eze approached Ogbee and made serious efforts for an out of court settlement with him as brothers.

“In fact, there was one particular occasion they agreed to meet in a particular hotel in Abuja, Sen Eze paid for a place and was there waiting for him with other people, only for a friend to call Sen Eze that he was with his brother Ogbe in a plane to East.

“Again, after the court of first instance, Election Petition Tribunal delivered its verdict, Sen Ken approached Hon Ogbe again. He made all manner of efforts, bent so low and involved different people to mediate between him and Laz to no avail.

“It is good we let Hon Ogbe know that the heat of the fire of the political tension he is working hard to ignite in Ezza South will be most unhealthy to whatever interest he is nursing than any other person’s own, hence the need to embrace the peace he met in the party, rather than fractionalizing and promoting division within the party.

“we’re always very careful with our choice of words not to insult any of our leaders, it is laughably ridiculous to call the Governor your friend, a man you chose to work against preferring a person from Ebonyi south to him and worked hard up to Supreme Court to unseat him, and you think people don’t see this as a joke of kindergarten pupils playing under the rain to catch a cruise and have fun.

“Let me make this clear, I wouldn’t have mentioned Ogbe if he had not by himself posted the post we’re responding to where we read it. Having said this, we wish to know the Unwuekumenyi Ogbe and his media aides were referring to in their write-up?

“Is it the same Unwuekumenyi that Ogbe joined forces with the people of his like minds against the charter of equity in the state, mobilized people and fund and even sold some of his properties to ensure they denied them the chance of producing the same Governor he wants to personalize today.

“Who should be asked to leave Unwuekumenyi alone, is it Sen Eze who fought like a tiger for the interest of Unwuekumenyi during the elections and continued to galvanize supports of all and sundry for our Governor after the elections, or Ogbe that fought the Governor against the interest of Unwuekumenyi during the elections and came to the party after the elections and started preaching hatred, promoting divisions and trying to fractionalize the party of the Governor he met united” he stated.
